Duet by Colbie and Gavin!
Two of my favorite singers have a duet out - Relativity Music Group and Republic Records’ original track “We Both Know,” performed by two-time Grammy® Award-winner Colbie Caillat and multi-platinum recording artist Gavin DeGraw for Relativity’s upcoming Safe Haven, is now available on iTunes®.
Written for the film by DeGraw & Caillat, ”We Both Know” was produced by Dan Wilson--the Grammy®-winning songwriter from the band Semisonic--and will also appear on the soundtrack, to be released by Relativity Music Group and Republic Records in February 2013.
In theatres Valentine’s Day 2013, Safe Haven is directed by Oscar®-nominee Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules) and based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks from a screenplay by Dana Stevens and Gage Lansky. The film stars Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Life As We Know It), Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages, Footloose), Cobie Smulders (The Avengers, How I Met Your Mother) and David Lyons (Eat Pray Love, J.J. Abrams’ Revolution) and is an affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman who struggles to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. Safe Haven was produced by Marty Bowen (The Twilight Saga) and Wyck Godfrey (The Twilight Saga), Sparks and Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter).
Caillat said, “My friend Gavin and I were on tour together this summer when I was approached to write a song for Safe Haven. I had never written a song for a soundtrack so was thrilled to be asked.”
DeGraw added, “Colbie came to me and we co-wrote the song together. We had so much fun collaborating and hope the fans like it.”
Caillat and DeGraw will debut “We Both Know” in their first network television performance of the song on the Today Show this New Year’s Day, January 1, 2013.

Book Review - A Season For Tending
A Season for Tending is written by New York Times Best-Selling Author Cindy Woodsmall. This book is the first in a new series called Amish Vines and Orchards. I love Amish fiction so I was looking forward to reading this new novel by Ms. Woodsmall.
Rhoda Byler is a young Amish woman who has a gift for growing herbs and berries. This alienates her from others in the Amish community because they think her gift is strange. Samuel King is an Amish man living in another community who is struggling to keep his family's apple orchard profitable. Samuel eventually ends up meeting Rhoda through his sister Leah, and they realize that they both can help each other. But then tragedy strikes so Rhoda, Samuel and his family members make a decision to start over in Maine.
My thoughts: I really enjoyed reading this book and am a fan of Cindy Woodsmall. The plot was interesting to me and the characters realistic. There seems to be a love triangle starting between Samuel, Samuel's brother and Rhoda and I am looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the series to see who Rhoda ends up with! I would recommend this book to others.
Disclosure: I received this book from Waterbrook Multnomah in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
