Fourth of July Celebration

Today was the (early) 4th of July celebration at my neighborhood library, Rancho San Diego library. I really love this library; it was built just a few years ago so it's still new-ish and best of all, walking distance from our house.

I had my usual assortment of pinback buttons, mirrors, magnet sets and pendants. I also started making badge reels but so far have only sold a handful of them. Not sure if people just don't want/need badge reels or if I need other types of designs. I've been working on glass tile necklaces but didn't have enough to bring with me so hopefully I'll have enough (50+) for the next craft show.

Here's some pictures of the day and of course I forgot to take pictures of my booth. Have a great week - I'm off to Portland and Seattle for a combination vacation/anniversary getaway (9 years on July 4!!)

July Giveaway

I've had to postpone the giveaway I was planning since me and the little guy are still sick (apologies). However, I'm partnering up with Ester once again of Drawing Dreaming and she will be having a giveaway on her blog next month (July 19) for a chance to win one of my new bezel pendants. More details to follow but check out her blog here.

Book Review - Beloved Enemy

Beloved Enemy is written by Al Lacy and is one of the first books in the Battles of Destiny series. This is a novel about the civil war, more specifically about the author's version of the Battle of Bull Run.

Jenny Jordan is the daughter of a Confederate spy but meets and starts to fall in love with Union soldier Buck Brownell. Jenny gets pressured to help the South and agrees to carry information over enemy (Union) lines. She gets caught and Buck is ordered to execute her. Even President Lincoln gets involved in the situation! You'll have to read to the very end to see how it ends.

I think this would be a great read for someone who is a history and/or Civil War buff, who wants to read factual events and characters with a fictional storyline mixed in.

Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Friday Fun - Photo Mosaic

Here's a fun (and free) site where you can turn your pictures into photo mosaics. Here's a picture I did of my son wearing a fake mustache that got turned into an "Eiffel Tower" mosaic. It's very fuzzy but that's because my original picture was - your picture should look fine.

Have a great weekend and details next week on the $100 gift certificate giveaway!

$100 gift certificate giveaway

Happy Monday! It's been a busy few days. I finally finished putting everything away from the Queen Bee Market which had a great turnout.

Next week is the official start of summer and to celebrate, I'll be offering a $100.00 (virtual) gift certificate to the Little Pink Plum shop. To give the winner of the $100 gift certificate more items to choose from, I've put the shop on vacation for a few days to make things and create more listings. Details about the giveaway to be announced soon!

National Doughnut Day

It's National Doughnut (or donut) Day today! I love donuts, especially those with cream or fruit fillings inside.

To celebrate the day, Krispy Kreme is offering a free donut to anyone - no purchase necessary.

Enjoy and Happy Friday!
